Overview

Microsoft is looking for a Communications Manager to join our Global Executive and Employee Communications team to lead communications and employee engagement strategies that bring Microsoft's culture, values, and priorities to life. In this role, you’ll manage a program that helps Puget Sound employees connect to each other, their local communities, workplace experiences, and Microsoft culture. This work focuses on creating awareness, participation, and belonging through employee events, campus experiences, regional programs, and community initiatives that enhance the employee experience. You will also drive communications for Microsoft's most visible employee brand moments, helping employees understand, engage with, and take action on the initiatives that reflect who we are as a company and what we stand for. This work includes communications for programs such as Giving and Volunteering, Sustainability, Accessibility, Inclusion Networks, Hackathon, Voter Registration and Civic Engagement, and other employee-facing initiatives that strengthen connection to Microsoft's mission, values, culture, and communities.
Responsibilities
Manage the Puget Sound Events & Community program lifecycle across stakeholder coordination, communications planning and execution, measurement, and optimization. Develop communication and engagement campaigns across digital and in-person channels to drive awareness, engagement, and participation. Partner with campus, community, and business stakeholders to prioritize opportunities, align messaging, and deliver engaging employee experiences. Build scalable communications resources, including toolkits, templates, guidance, and best practices that enable efficient and consistent execution. Leverage data, employee insights, and AI-enabled tools to improve impact and effectiveness. Successful candidates will demonstrate: Strategic communication planning and execution Strong written and verbal communication skills Program and project management excellence Data-informed decision making Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management Creativity and storytelling expertise Adaptability and continuous learning Customer and employee-centric thinking Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, Business, or related field AND 2+ years experience in communications, marketing, public relations, employee engagement, community engagement, or related experience OR equivalent experience. Additional or preferred qualifications Experience in employee communications, internal communications, corporate communications, or employee engagement programs. Strong strategic thinking and storytelling skills with an ability to translate complex topics into compelling communications. Experience using metrics and audience insights to evaluate communications effectiveness and improve outcomes. Familiarity with AI-assisted content development, communications planning, or audience analysis tools. Experience supporting events, activations, community programs, or large-scale employee experiences. Experience developing and executing communication campaigns for multiple stakeholders and audiences. Experience creating written communications and storytelling content across multiple channels. Experience managing projects, programs, events, or engagement initiatives involving cross-functional collaboration Communications IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $86,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $113,300 - $187,400 per year.
