Sub-Regional Controller

We are seeking a Sub Regional Controler Based in South Africa or Budapest! This role supports financial integrity, reporting, and compliance across South Africa, Nigeria, Turkey, Egypt and United Arab Emirates. The Sub Regional Controller supervises accounting activities, supports close and reporting processes, ensures compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements, and contributes to audit readiness, internal controls, and process improvements. The role provides finance support to local stakeholders while operating within a Global Business Services delivery model. Where You’ll Make a Difference •    Support financial close processes (month-end, quarter-end, year-end) ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP  •    Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses  •    Support preparation of statutory financial statements and management reporting  •    Coordinate with Global Business Services teams to ensure high-quality and timely delivery  •    Prepare and/or review indirect and direct tax filings (VAT, corporate tax) where required  •    Coordinate internal and external audit activities, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests  •    Execute and monitor internal controls ensuring proper documentation and compliance  •    Provide financial insights and support to business stakeholders and finance leadership  •    Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities  •    Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Tax, Treasury, Technical Accounting, Reporting)  •    Support supervision and mentoring of junior accounting staff  •    Supports the preparation and integrity of legal entity financial statements for assigned countries  •    Acts as a key contact point for finance and controllership matters within the country scope  •    Supports interactions with external authorities (auditors, tax authorities) as part of audit and compliance processes  •    Operates within a shared services environment, coordinating closely with offshore/onshore delivery teams  •    Contributes to maintaining a strong internal control environment and compliance  •    Participates in cross-functional and finance transformation projects  What Makes You the Right Fit •       University degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.  •       Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.   •    5+ years of accounting experience including financial close and reporting  •    Experience in multinational environments and multi-GAAP reporting  •    Exposure to audit, tax, treasury or finance operations is an advantage  •    Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)  How Would You Stand Out? •    Strong understanding of US GAAP and local GAAP  •    Solid knowledge of tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements  •    Understanding of internal control frameworks  •    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  •    Effective communication and stakeholder management  •    Ability to work in a multi-country, matrix organization  •    Results-driven with strong attention to detail  •    Adaptability to change and continuous improvement mindset  •    Fluent English, additional local language preferred.  Why Choose Us?   •    Flexible Home Office Opportunities – Enjoy the flexibility to work from home and maintain a healthy work-life balance. •    Training Opportunities – Access a variety of training programs designed to enhance your skills and support your professional growth. •    Learning & Development Programs – Benefit from continuous learning initiatives, career
