As part of Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET) group, this position is based in Bangalore, India. The candidate will be reporting to the Supplier Quality Manager in India and working closely with global suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders from Supply Chain, Product Group, and Manufacturing across global regions and timezones. The role is responsible for leading critical projects, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and achieving quality performance objectives for Cables commodity. What you’ll do
Key responsibilities include
Manage assigned suppliers for cables and harnesses to ensure product quality, delivery performance, and adherence to timelines. Assess the impact of internal and external nonconformances and lead structured problem-solving with suppliers to drive root cause identification, corrective actions, and sustained prevention of recurrence. Support suppliers in preparing and executing 8D (RCCA), First Article submissions, Process of Record documentation (PPAP), and resolution of supplier deviations and engineering queries. Drive supplier performance improvement through virtual assessments, scorecard management, and support for supplier qualification and supplier / part development processes. Review supplier manufacturing processes and collaborate with them to identify, prioritize, and implement process improvement opportunities. Partner closely with Supply Chain and Engineering teams to identify and deliver business value enhancement opportunities. Who we’re looking for
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6 years with a Master’s degree.
Strong knowledge of cables, harnesses, and cable components and their functions. Review and recommend alternate components during shortage scenarios. Extensive hands-on experience resolving quality issues related to cables (e.g. Power, Signal, RF and Fiber-optic cables), harnesses and lead part / supplier’s facility qualifications. Proven ability to understand supplier manufacturing processes and guide suppliers on critical process requirements for cables and harnesses. Skilled in structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, and DOE. Experience monitoring supplier performance through KPIs such as PPM, defect trends, scorecards, and poka-yoke effectiveness. Preferred qualifications
Hands on experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, including conducting onsite source inspections, First article development, QMS and Gemba audits. Experienced in SAP and other enterprise database systems for quality and supplier data management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and effective presentations to suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders across global regions / time zones.
