About this role

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The Fiber Infrastructure Engineering and Delivery Team is a unified organization within Google Global Infrastructure, integrating the expertise of Capacity Infrastructure Engineering, Network Infrastructure Engineering and Fiber and Capacity Delivery. Our mission is to deliver the resilient long-haul and metro fiber assets and data center network space that power Google's global growth and AI leadership. We operate at the intersection of technology and global scale, ensuring Google’s network infrastructure is the most reliable and efficient on the planet. As a member of the Fiber Capacity Delivery, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management. You will facilitate and manage the post-sale delivery of new services from third-party suppliers and vendors, covering the full spectrum of physical network infrastructure from external pathways to in-building facilities. Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Oversee testing and construction and installation activities, ensuring work is performed to Google standards, industry best practices, and in compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary vendor contact, managing performance, schedules, and issue resolution. Escalate up vendor management chains as necessary if delivery timelines are at risk. Test and remediate network fiber assets on both long haul optical transport routes and within metro footprints, encompassing all fiber delivery components. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of fiber delivery assets and attributes in Google's network inventory systems, and manage vendor handover documentation, test results, and technical drawings.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 1 year of experience in program management. Experience with outside plant and inside plant fiber optic infrastructure. Experience with test automation framework. Preferred qualifications: Experience with vendor management. Experience with data center technology. Experience in an outside plant focused role within the telecommunications or network infrastructure industry.
