Job Description • Operates independently with minimal supervision on water infrastructure and hydrological projects. Responsibilities at this level include designing and programming water-focused databases for applications such as water distribution systems, stormwater management, water quality monitoring, and hydrological analysis. Database design and programming is customized for each water resource project and can be task-specific based on utility or environmental requirements. Applies advanced proficiency within GIS and CAD software platforms to develop water infrastructure solutions and spatial analyses. May direct the work of Level I and II GIS Specialists on water-related projects. Responsibilities could include overall project or task management for water resource initiatives. Independently executes and delivers water sector GIS projects of moderate to significant scope and complexity, including water system mapping, watershed analysis, and infrastructure planning. Qualifications **Required Qualifications:** Minimum 10 years of professional experience in water resources engineering, water infrastructure development, or related water sector projects Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or equivalent engineering discipline Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS or equivalent) and CAD platforms (AutoCAD or similar) Demonstrated expertise in water-focused database design, programming, and management Proven experience with water distribution systems, stormwater management, watershed analysis, or hydrological modeling Strong project management skills with experience leading moderate to complex water infrastructure initiatives Proficiency in spatial analysis, data visualization, and technical documentation for water sector applications Experience supervising or mentoring junior GIS/CAD professionals **Preferred Qualifications:** Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management, or GIS Professional Engineering (PE) license or GIS certification (GISP) Experience with water utility management systems and SCADA integration Knowledge of water quality monitoring systems and environmental compliance standards Familiarity with hydrological analysis software and modeling tools Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms and enterprise database systems Additional Information At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
