Principal Engineer System Application Engineering Your role Key responsibilities in your new role Lead and mentor a global team of System Application Engineers (SAEs) by defining technical strategies, coordinating project execution across regions, developing engineering capabilities, and ensuring consistent technical excellence and customer support worldwide. Drive system architecture and technical leadership for advanced power conversion and energy infrastructure solutions, including Solid State Circuit Breakers (SSCBs), Solid State Transformers (SSTs), UPS systems, Utility Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and Power Grid Infrastructure applications. Perform hands-on system development and laboratory validation, including hardware integration, debugging, prototype evaluation, performance characterization, and troubleshooting of power electronic systems under real-world operating conditions. Collaborate with cross-functional global teams such as R&D, product management, sales, and key customers to translate application requirements into scalable system solutions and accelerate product deployment. Provide subject-matter expertise in power electronics and grid technologies, supporting customer engagements, technical reviews, field issue resolution, and the development of innovative solutions that improve system reliability, efficiency, safety, and grid resilience.
Your profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the semiconductor and/or power electronics industry Proven experience in system-level power converter applications, including hardware design/development and/or software integration Strong knowledge in power conversion applications, including the operating principles of key components Solid knowledge of magnetics design (transformers, inductors), EMC/EMI considerations, and converter design and experience with system-level modelling, simulation, and concept validation methodologies Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate system requirements into technical solutions and excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment across divisions, regional teams, and sales organizations Self-driven, structured, and able to operate under ambiguity in a fast-evolving environment #WeAreIn for driving decarbonization and digitalization.
