Critical Environment Technician (Shifts)

Critical Environment Technician (CET) – Shift Role  Location: 3 Sites Greater Copenhagen Area, Denmark   Role Type: Shift-based, onsite technical operations role  Role Summary  Microsoft is seeking a Critical Environment Technician (CET) to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Microsoft datacenter infrastructure in Denmark.  This role is responsible for supporting the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, cooling, and control systems within a 24/7 mission-critical environment.  We offer an excellent work-life balance  •    Two-day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. •    Two-night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.  •    Seven days off following each rotation, in accordance with the DI agreement.  Microsoft Culture and Expectations  Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Key Responsibilities  •    Monitor, operate, and control critical infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, and control systems.  •    Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved EOPs, MOPs, and SOPs.  •    Respond to incidents, support troubleshooting and recovery activities, and lead response efforts when appropriate. •    Identify and escalate safety, compliance, and operational risks in line with Microsoft standards.  •    Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure safe and high-quality execution.  •    Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and developing technical capability over time.

Required Qualifications   •    Upper secondary education (vocational or general upper secondary school) or equivalent practical work experience  •    Some prior experience in technical work, such as: industrial maintenance, electrical or HVAC installations, energy, process or production facilities, datacentres, hospitals or other demanding technical environments  •    You will be required to travel between sites as part of this role so a valid driver’s license will be required. •    Ability to work rotating shift patterns in a 24/7 operational environment.  •    Ability to communicate effectively in English.  Preferred (but not essential) Qualifications  •    Technical certification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or a related field, or equivalent training.  •    Experience working with CMMS systems. •    Experience in high-availability, mission-critical, or safety-critical environments.  •    Exposure to industrial, electrical, mechanical, cooling, or control systems.   Direct datacenter experience is not required—we provide onboarding and support to build the necessary domain expertise.  You do not need to meet every requirement to apply.  If you have strong experience in similar technical environments, a passion for safety, and operations, we encourage you to apply.  Candidate Profile  •    The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong safety mindset, sound technical judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a structured, procedure-driven environment.  •    Microsoft encourages applications from candidates with diverse technical backgrounds who are motivated to learn and contribute to a high-performing datacenter operations team.  Security Requirements  Candidates must successfully complete the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and maintain ongoing compliance
