What We Are Looking For
Responsibilities include coordinating and executing emissions testing programs and performing comprehensive emissions analyses. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of emissions analyzers, data collection, data reduction, statistical analysis, and preparation of technical reports. Results will be used to support regulatory compliance requirements and inform operational decision-making. The position requires a solid understanding of thermodynamics and chemistry, along with the ability to effectively manage, analyze, and interpret large datasets. Additionally, the candidate will assist mechanics in troubleshooting, tuning, and evaluating the performance of compression engines.
What You Will Do
Job Responsibilities: Travel, (75%+ day trips), to Kinder Morgan sites for engine air emissions testing in the Williston Basin area. Travel will require transporting truck and testing trailer to and from sites. Travel ( This position has the opportunity, but not always guaranteed, to work a hybrid work schedule, when travel or other work is not required, with Monday through Wednesday in the office and Thursday and Friday at home. Maintain DOT logs when traveling with truck and trailer. Work in outdoor environments, in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment. Lead and assist in the performance of state and federally required air emissions testing. Lead and assist in the maintenance and general upkeep of the testing group’s emissions testing trailers. Lead and assist in the development and submittal of permit required state and federal air emission test protocols and test reports before the mandated reporting deadline. Lead and assist with air permit reviews and data requests. Specify and procure instrumentation used in upgrades to the emissions trailers. Maintain inventory of equipment and calibration gases as well as maintenance and replacement schedules. What You Need Education Requirements: A 4 ‐ year engineering or science degree from an accredited school. Job Requirements: Proficiency in basic engineering skills. Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintenance of analyzers, generator, computers and related systems. Specific knowledge in natural gas compression engine operation. General knowledge of compressor stations, gathering system, and processing plant operation Knowledge of Wonderware InTouch, or other programming languages needed to communicate with the unit automation. Able to learn new programming skills as needed. Proficient in basic PC operations, including word ‐ processing and spreadsheets. Familiarity and ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID’s). Must be able to work cooperatively with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rules. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers. Must successfully pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and maintain compliance with all DOT requirements to be eligible to drive a company vehicle. Must be capable of safely driving a ¾-ton pickup truck and transporting a gooseneck trailer between work locations.
