SS&C is seeking a TechOps engineer is responsible for operational excellence and long‑term reliability, scalability, and operability for platform and application services: running, administering, and providing technical support for production systems, responding to incidents; building automation and observability to reduce toil by eliminating repetitive, manual, operational work using automation and AI tools to meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs). This role blends systems administration, technical support, and automation to ensure scalable, resilient services. This role reports into and is part of Engineering team. Operate and maintain production and staging environments; perform on‑call rotations and incident management. Keep production healthy: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents across services and infrastructure by working closely with cross-functional team. Regularly troubleshoots complex client application, integration and environment issues escalated from Tier 1 & Tier 2 team. Automate operational tasks to eliminate manual toil using scripts and AI and RPA tooling. Reduce MTTR and prevent recurrences through high-quality post-incident actions via effective root cause analysis (RCAs) Observability as a practice: Use Grafana, Datadog, and Splunk (and related tools like Prometheus) to detect anomalies, root cause issues, and create actionable alerts and dashboards. Build and maintain observability: metrics, tracing, logging, dashboards, and alerting. Create and maintain runbooks, runbook automation, and playbooks for common failure modes. Define and measure SLIs and SLOs; manage error budgets and drive reliability improvements. Support CI/CD pipelines and deployments, including rollback strategies. Lead blameless postmortems and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with engineering teams to influence architecture for operability, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
