 Job Description Our vision for BDPI at BD Our Peripheral Intervention (PI) business unit offers a comprehensive range of medical products, devices and services for the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease, cancer detection, and end-stage renal disease and maintenance. Summary of Position with General Responsibilities: As a Regional Manager, you will achieve sales objectives in line with the marketing plan through effective management of personnel and resources. The primary responsibilities of this role, are to: Implement, direct, and control district sales activities. Recommend, implement, and promote contests and other incentive programs. Recruit, interview, and select sales and clinical personnel. Develop district personnel to assume increased responsibilities. Operate a district sales office and maintain pertinent records. Plan and conduct district sales meetings. Communicate with the Area Vice President of Sales on pricing, product acceptance, industry/competitive trends, and marketing strategies. Travel with sales associates and clinical specialists within the geography on a weekly basis. Recommend changes in compensation for district employees.
Skills
Ability to motivate sales employees. Knowledge of hospital buying practices and key influences. Working knowledge of management by objectives. Ability to direct sales representatives to achieve corporate goals. Ability to get things done through others. Ability to evaluate personnel performance. Ability to counsel and coach sales personnel. Knowledge of medical products distribution systems. Ability to travel 50-75% of the time within the region. Experience & Education Bachelor’s Degree required. Five years of outside medical sales experience or equivalency. Demonstrated human relations and communication skills. Proven top 20% sales performance in multiple years. Successful proven track record of leading people and/or teams.
