Job Description
The Loan Underwriter Team Lead leads the Underwriting Department team. Oversees daily underwriting activities, including workflow, turnaround, productivity and quality monitoring. Depth & Scope: Supervises daily operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency of workflow and staff Ensures 48 hour turn time SLA is met Acts as an advisor to production and operations staff to ensure team goals are met Assists with the selection process and orientation of new staff members Supports Loan operations in whatever capacity needed Provides exceptional customer service, congruent with WOW! philosophies, to customers, vendors and other institutions Demonstrates sound judgment conveying departmental policies and procedures Assists in conducting monthly underwriting staff meetings and individual one-on-one monthly meetings with underwriters Supports Operations Director with delegation program Keeps management abreast of operational needs, providing both a breakdown of the issues at hand as well as recommended solutions Researches and resolves discrepancies with customers and investors Performs other duties as may be assigned Education & Experience: 2-4 year degree or equivalent experience 7+ years of related experience FHA DE preferred VA LAPP preferred Knowledge and understanding of bank operations, department policies, procedures, products, services, systems and applications Ability to interact with all TD Bank and departmental customers Advanced oral and written communication skills Excellent PC skills and familiarity with standard office equipment Detail-oriented, self-motivated and has excellent customer service skills General knowledge of accounting Flexibility in adjusting priorities Ability to pro-actively manage workflow Physical Requirements: Never: 0%; Occasional: 1-33%; Frequent: 34-66%; Continuous: 67-100% Domestic Travel – Occasional International Travel – Never Performing sedentary work – Continuous Performing multiple tasks – Continuous Operating standard office equipment - Continuous Responding quickly to sounds – Occasional Sitting – Continuous Standing – Occasional Walking – Occasional Moving safely in confined spaces – Occasional Lifting/Carrying (under 25 lbs.) – Occasional Lifting/Carrying (over 25 lbs.) – Never Squatting – Occasional Bending – Occasional Kneeling – Never Crawling – Never Climbing – Never Reaching overhead – Never Reaching forward – Occasional Pushing – Never Pulling – Never Twisting – Never Concentrating for long periods of time – Continuous Applying common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations – Continuous Reading, writing and comprehending instructions – Continuous Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing – Continuous The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
