Operator

Avantor is looking for an Operator to operate distillation and blending equipment and handle chemicals. This is a full-time position based out of our Phillipsburg, NJ location. Work Schedule: 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 11:00pm-7:00am with training on 1st shift for the first few months . What we’re looking for:

High School completion or equivalent (GED).

1 – 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a chemical plant or food and beverage industry. Additional Qualifications: Adhere to all safety precautions and PPE (personal protection equipment) requirements while completing the assigned duties in a safe manner. Demonstrated mechanical ability, basic math skills, and familiarity with RCRA and cGMP regulations. Experience in chemical handling, storage, and safety protocols. Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem analysis skills. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), preferred. Critical decision-making skills, creativity, multi-tasking ability. Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Forklift Experience is a plus. How you will thrive and create an impact:  Performs manufacturing activities by adhering to a defined set of procedures and standard outputs to ensure consistent production quality. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Works safely within the parameters of and comply with company Work Instructions and policies. Weighs and fills chemicals or bulk products in accordance with BPR. Operates production scales, including verifications and calibrations. Set up, operate, clean, and maintain the equipment. Packages finished product for customers including labeling, sealing, and inspections per Work Instructions. Manages hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety gear. Completes documentation in a legible manner; verifies and reviews for accuracy. Maintains expected quality and quantity of work. Follows cGMP policies and procedures for handling, storage, packing, manufacturing, and distributing products. Supports co-workers in their job responsibilities and are expected to work as a team player. Good vision required for close-up and peripheral tasks. Monitors quality of products and raw materials. Communicates with colleagues within manufacturing to exchange information, providing explanations or interpretations as necessary to maintain alignment and efficiency. Ensures compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and operational guidelines to support seamless manufacturing processes.
