Job Description
The KBS + Events Lead connects Food Education, Service, and Events to the Wegmans mission of helping people live healthier, better lives. This role leads the in-store team responsible for delivering Knowledge Based Service (KBS) and executing Weekends at Wegmans, seasonal events, and community focused events. By building and developing cross-departmental selling teams, creating engaging in-store experiences through curated KBS and events, and deepening customer trust through consistent, personalized interactions, this role reinforces Wegmans as a trusted food destination that is familiar and welcoming.
What You'll Do
Lead the planning and execution of Weekends at Wegmans, seasonal events, and community focused events hosted within the store, partnering with departments across the store to bring Merchandising plans to life Recruit, build, and develop a high-performing selling and events team in partnership with Store Leadership Coach employees by providing feedback, development opportunities, and ongoing training in cooking techniques, food safety, and selling skills – ensuring all team members have the tools to deliver incredible customer experience Execute weekly KBS plans including station setup, scheduling, ordering, and replenishment Create excitement that drives sales through knowledge-based service, Lead KBS Huddles, rallies, and Flavor Huddles to build excitement and share product knowledge Build lasting customer relationships by providing personalized meal solutions, cooking techniques, and product recommendations Share knowledge of products with customers and employees with enthusiasm, introducing new ways to enjoy them Set goals, achieve metrics, and measure results of KBS programs and events; share insights and recommendations with store management Requirements 1 or more years of collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting Experience coordinating and executing programs, events or initiatives across multiple departments or areas Demonstrated experience organizing and prioritizing workload Ability to work independently and to teach and train others Passion for food and people with enthusiasm to learn more about the product Experience coordinating daily work of others Preferred Qualifications Experience utilizing a variety of cooking techniques Experience ordering products and controlling inventory Advanced culinary, food and beverage knowledge
