This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Rapids Operations on a full-time basis. This role may be eligible for relocation benefits. The successful candidate will be assigned to 1st shift; occasional overtime and weekends are expected.
The Role
As a Quality Systems Specialist, you will: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fast Response process at Grand Rapids, including running the daily Fast Response meeting, maintaining a log of customer complaints, working with Protect the Customer (PTC) teams to ensure required fast response timing is met, and reviewing all fast response required documentation for completeness and effectiveness. Responsible for BIQ at Grand Rapids. Including developing elemental SME’s, compiling book of evidence, participating in the corporate wide basketweave meetings, maintaining internal scorecard and executing during the external audit. Reporting and publishing plant quality metrics to the headquarters team Responsible for Grand Rapids Operating Procedures, including 3-year audits, participating in North America GM Quality Requirements call, signing off on all GM quality requirements after implementation of changes. Mentor and coach manufacturing teams in problem solving. Build and sustain a good working relationship between quality, engineering and manufacturing teams. What You’ll Do: Responsible for supporting activities that may include: Run plant daily Fast Response meeting Maintain plant quality requirements Own plant BIQ including running bi-weekly meetings, compiling book of evidence and running external calibrations. Attend manufacturing PTC meetings and coach teams on problem solving Calculate and report to Corporate GM plant quality metrics Participate in North America Quality Requirement call and implement changes Own and maintain all Grand Rapids Operating Procedures (GROP’s) Conduct 3-year audits on Grand Rapids Operating Procedures Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent experience Quality Systems knowledge 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment High level of written and oral communication skills necessary for developing procedures High level of interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Robust understanding of GMS/BIQ and experience working in a GMS/BIQ environment Experience in quality and/or quality systems IATF experience, including internal IATF auditor experience
