What You’ll Work On Lead a team of wastewater operators for meeting city wastewater permit requirements Conduct process evaluations and assessments of wastewater treatment systems to identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings Develop and implement process design and engineering solutions to address specific wastewater treatment challenges, such as nutrient removal, odor control, and sludge management Perform hydraulic and mass balance calculations, sizing calculations, and equipment selection for wastewater treatment systems and unit processes Prepare engineering calculations, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and other technical documents for wastewater treatment projects Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and technicians, to develop comprehensive wastewater treatment solutions that meet client requirements and regulatory standards Provide technical support and guidance during the construction, commissioning, startup and operation of wastewater treatment facilities, including process troubleshooting and optimization Conduct pilot-scale testing and field evaluations to validate process performance, assess treatment efficiency, and identify potential improvements for full-scale implementation Manage the department budget and drive cost improvement initiatives related to wastewater operation. Support energy center for providing utilities for the plant as needed.
