THE ROLE
AMD’s Ethics and Compliance organization is seeking a seasoned in-house attorney to join our team as Assistant General Counsel - Ethics & Compliance. This role will be based in Penang and report to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer. This person will serve as the Ethics & Compliance lead throughout Asia Pacific and India, while also collaborating with global team members to scale our anti-corruption, competition, COI, and investigations programs. This role will operate in fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment where legal, analytical, and organizational skills will play an impactful role in tackling interesting and complex compliance issues in the technology sector. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and manage a docket of compliance reports and investigations. Conduct and oversee objective, thorough, and effective investigations, working across borders and jurisdictions, as necessary. Manage Ethics & Compliance team members located in Asia Pacific and India. Manage external counsel investigations, as necessary. Oversee the preparation of investigation reports documenting allegations, findings, and recommendations for discipline and corrective actions, at the appropriate detail level for each investigation. Synthesize relevant information to effectively and timely brief leaders on investigation outcomes, disciplinary measures, root causes, and remediation plans. Work cross-functionally with Internal Audit, Human Resources and Legal Department attorneys to propose and implement post-investigation discipline and remediation plans. Assist with preparing quarterly reports to Board of Directors and Audit & Finance Committee on effectiveness of the Corporate Investigations Program. Advise on anti-corruption and competition risks throughout Asia Pacific and India. Review and advise on conflicts of interest. Leverage AI, data, and automation to scale our global anti-corruption, competition, COI, and investigations programs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Proven background in conducting complex, sensitive, and high-risk compliance investigations required. Experience successfully aligning with global cross-functional stakeholders. Experience in the technology and semiconductor industry is a plus. Experience with the channel sales model and channel compliance is a plus. ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent) from a reputed institution. License to practice law (or in-house equivalent) in
