Title: Electrician Location: Charleston, TN Salary: $41.97/hour starting rate Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts The Electrician plays a critical role in supporting Olin’s business objectives through job activities that involve working near heavy equipment, various gases, moving machinery, high (up to 150 ft.) locations, and congested areas. This position collaborates across teams to deliver results that support operational excellence through cooperation, teamwork, and paying close attention. Errors at work could result in serious injury or lethal accidents, a loss of production, and serious damage to machines/equipment costing thousands of dollars. What You’ll Do Install, repair, and maintain motors, electrical operating equipment, alarm systems, switches, relays, and fixtures. Inspect and maintain transformers, buss bars, circuit breakers, and wiring connections in power distribution substations and switchyard power distribution switching. Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using voltmeters, ohmmeters, meggers, power quality meters, and an oscilloscope. Read and understand switching plans and plant electrical drawings. Advise and consult with operators, engineers, factory or manufacturer representatives, or area managers on maintenance problems and projects Prepare maintenance or repair plan, including calculation of material and personnel needs Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of electrician work experience (industrial setting preferred) or Journey level electrician designation A complete employment application that explains a detailed work history is required (resume must cover at least 5 years' work experience in electrical) Able to demonstrate basic computer skills, math, and problem-solving; mechanical, numerical, and verbal aptitude to learn our jobs quickly Must be able to work call-ins and overtime when support is needed Able to pass a functional physical test and able to use standard safety equipment; must be able to lift to 50 pounds Able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights Able to work in tight or closed-in spaces Pass a physical, drug screen, and background check if a job offer is received and accepted Secondary skill set in instrumentation preferred All In With Olin Olin is a global leader in chemical manufacturing and ammunition, with a legacy built on innovation, safety, and accountability.
