About the Role
The Columbia Threadneedle Investments Internship program is designed to provide you with first-hand investment management experience. You will support portfolio management and investment research, contributing directly to the investment process. You will work with an experienced team of portfolio managers and/or analysts who will provide mentorship and opportunities for shadowing.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing daily investment reports to support portfolio management team Work alongside team of portfolio managers, analysts and traders to improve efficiency of daily workflow Attend meetings with members across the organization to evaluate new opportunities for client portfolios Develop new tools and reports to aid in the idea generation, portfolio construction and monitoring processes Learning how investment ideas from research get expressed in client portfolios Develop an understanding of the Investment Grade Corporate bond market, and broader fixed income markets through market research, investment discussions, and interaction with portfolio managers and analysts.
Required Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field Graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028 Passionate about the investment management industry and dedication to being a part of a successful team Preferred Qualifications High degree of independence and self-motivation Attention to detail and propensity to check work thoroughly Ability to multi-task, problem solve independently, and think creatively Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills Some knowledge of programming – R, Python, AI tools/coding agents Proficiency with Microsoft Office – particularly Excel Familiarity with Bloomberg Strong interest in financial markets, investing, and credit analysis Visa Sponsorship Applicants must have a valid work authorization that does not now, or in the future, require visa sponsorship for employment in the United States (e.g., H-1B, F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, TN).
