You Are You have spent the last few years deep in FPGA design and implementation, and you have learned that the real work begins when a customer's design does not compile the way they expected or when partitioning across multiple FPGAs creates timing issues no one saw coming. You are the engineer who stays on the call until the problem is solved, not because you have to, but because leaving something half-fixed bothers you. You are comfortable reading Verilog or SystemVerilog that someone else wrote, understanding what they were trying to do, and figuring out why the synthesis tool is choking on it. You know your way around FPGA architecture well enough to explain why a design that worked fine in simulation is failing in hardware, and you can do it in a way that does not make the customer feel like they missed something obvious. Working with customers energizes you. You like the variety of problems, the pressure of real deadlines, and the satisfaction of helping someone get unstuck. You do not need everything documented perfectly to move forward. You ask the right questions, dig into log files, reproduce issues locally, and escalate to R&D when needed with enough context that they can actually help. At Synopsys, you will work with some of the most complex emulation and prototyping workflows in the industry, supporting global customers who depend on Zebu and Protocompiler to verify chips that power everything from automotive systems to data centers.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide technical support to global customers using Synopsys Zebu Emulation and Protocompiler Prototyping software, troubleshooting issues across partitioning, synthesis, place and route, and hardware debug Work directly with customers to migrate their designs to new software releases, ensuring compatibility and resolving any regressions or performance issues that surface Deploy new software features on live customer designs, helping them adopt capabilities like advanced partitioning algorithms, new debug modes, or updated FPGA target support Deliver technical training sessions to customers, ranging from basic tool usage to advanced workflows for multi-FPGA partitioning and hardware-software co-verification Collaborate with Synopsys HAV R&D teams to report customer issues, provide reproducible test cases, and advocate for product improvements based on real-world usage patterns Support pre-sales evaluations by running customer designs through the Synopsys emulation and prototyping flow, demonstrating performance and identifying potential adoption blockers Travel occasionally to customer sites for onsite support, training, or critical issue resolution The Impact You Will Have Enable customers to bring up complex SoC designs on emulation and prototyping platforms faster, reducing their verification cycle time by weeks or months Improve product quality by surfacing real customer pain points to R&D with enough technical detail that fixes can be prioritized and implemented effectively Build customer confidence in Synopsys HAV solutions through responsive, expert-level support that helps them solve problems they could not solve on their own Expand adoption of new software features by showing customers how to use them on their actual designs, not just in demos Reduce escalations and support load over time by delivering training that helps customers become more self-sufficient with the toolchain Strengthen customer relationships by being the engineer they trust to pick up the phone
