Responsibilities
Business Integration: Align healthcare policy and market access initiatives with commercial goals, pipeline priorities, and innovation/growth targets. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior business leadership, translating policy risks and opportunities into actionable business strategies. Strategic Healthcare Policy Leadership: Develop and deploy forward‑looking healthcare policy strategies that anticipate global trends, regulatory shifts, and business imperatives. Deliver clear, actionable insights in partnership with the broader Public Affairs team to inform business decision-making. Market Access Advancement: Shape and execute global access strategies that address payer dynamics, pricing pressures, and evolving value frameworks. Ensure alignment with product lifecycle planning and commercial strategy. Partner with Market Access teams globally to maintain, expand, and accelerate access to BD Surgery technologies. Oversee the development of payer value tools, HTA materials, and policy positions. Collaborate with Medical/Clinical Affairs, HEOR, and Marketing to guide evidence generation and sharpen economic value narratives. Global‑Local Coordination: Act as a strategic partner to commercial, marketing, and product development teams to embed policy and access considerations into go‑to‑market and launch plans. Drive global consistency while enabling tailored regional execution through close collaboration with international and regional Public Affairs teams. Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthen relationships with key external stakeholders, including customer associations, professional societies, and patient advocacy organizations, to advance policy and access priorities. Enable strategic engagement across physician and patient‑facing organizations critical to BD Surgery success.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in public affairs, encompassing public policy, market access, and/or government relations within a multinational healthcare sector; MedTech or medical device experience strongly preferred. Proven track record leading global policy shaping and payer engagement that deliver measurable business impact across global and U.S. markets. Deep expertise in U.S. healthcare policy and reimbursement, with a strong understanding of global health systems and access dynamics. Strategic and commercially minded leader with the ability to translate healthcare policy and access imperatives into business growth and innovation opportunities. Exceptional communicator and coalition-builder, skilled in navigating high-stakes policy environments and influencing diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing, collaborative teams across global and U.S. public affairs
