A Day in The Life Of: As a Software Engineer II, you will contribute to the design, development, verification, and maintenance of software for medical device products. Working within cross-functional engineering teams, you will help deliver high-quality software solutions while building technical expertise and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and verify software for medical device products in compliance with applicable software development standards. Collaborate with product engineers, software engineers, software test engineers, and technology architects to deliver high-quality software solutions. Participate in software design, implementation, debugging, and verification activities throughout the product development lifecycle. Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, and execution of assigned software development activities. Conduct technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, source code, and other engineering deliverables. Apply software engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes to deliver reliable and maintainable software. Develop reusable software components and solutions that improve team productivity and consistency. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of compliant, high-quality software products. Utilise AI-assisted tools to accelerate implementation, code review, and debugging; holding AI-generated contributions to the same quality and safety bar as hand-authored code.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 2 years of relevant software engineering experience; or an advanced degree with relevant technical experience. Experience with software design, development, debugging, and testing within a structured software development lifecycle. Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles. Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies: XML, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, C#, .NET, or Python.
