Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li class="Default">Respond to calls via radio and telephone in support of PTC (Positive Train Control) system users.</li><li class="Default">Properly react to alerts and alarms from the Network Management System (NMS).</li><li class="Default">Triage, troubleshoot, assess and prioritize incidents as they are occurring.</li><li class="Default">Assist with installation, configuration and testing of system hardware, software, operating systems and management systems.</li><li class="Default">Initiate incident resolution processes to correct abnormalities, working closely with Network Control Systems, Network Ops Center, Signal (SOC), Telecommunications (TSOC), Mechanical, vendors, other railways, and other personnel as necessary.</li><li class="Default">Respond to service interruptions and system outages appropriately.</li><li class="Default">Provide leadership and exercise resourcefulness in accomplishing repairs to the PTC infrastructure.</li><li class="Default">Accurately document and report issues and actions taken in the resolution process.</li><li class="Default">Interact with BNSF field personnel, executive leadership, train dispatchers, government agencies, and law enforcement agencies in a professional manner.</li><li class="Default">The duties and responsibilities in this posting are representative categories to be used in deciding whether toapply for this position. This is not an exhaustive list of the position’s duties.</li></ul> Required Qualifications:<ul><li class="Default">Be willing and available to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays</li><li class="Default">Be willing to work outside of normally scheduled hours and on short notice as needed</li><li class="Default">Possess ability to learn and understand overall PTC network at a system level</li><li class="Default">Be an effective verbal and written communicator</li><li class="Default">Be willing and able to work with a team in a highly stressful environment </li><li class="Default">Possess a working knowledge of General Operating and Safety rules</li><li class="Default">Proficiency in Microsoft office products such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li class="Default">Prefer a minimum of 2 years railroad experience</li><li class="Default">Experience with computer networking, telecommunications, signal, or locomotive systems</li><li class="Default">Network Operations experience in one or more of the following departments, Signal, Telecommunications, Transportation, and/or Mechanical departments is highly desired but not required</li><li class="Default">A Bachelor of Science or technical degree in electronics, computer science or related technical field is desired but not required</li></ul> Relocation: Relocation assistance may be provided based on business need.
