More ways to build a career that moves you forward. Overview Group1 Subaru is seeking an accomplished, highly motivated New Car Sales Manager to join our leadership team in Danvers, Massachusetts. This is an opportunity for a proven automotive leader who wants more than simply managing a sales desk. We are looking for someone who can lead people, drive performance, develop talent, protect profitability, and deliver an exceptional customer experience while helping take an already successful Subaru operation to the next level.
As part of Group 1 Automotive , one of the largest automotive retail organizations in the country, this position offers the resources and career opportunities of a major publicly traded organization combined with the ability to make a significant impact at the dealership level. The successful candidate will be competitive, analytical, process-driven and highly engaged with both customers and employees. Most importantly, this individual must understand how to balance volume, gross, market share, customer experience and long-term profitability. Responsibilities The New Car Sales Manager will have direct responsibility for the performance of our new vehicle sales operation and will work closely with the General Manager, GSM, Finance, BDC and other department leaders. Key responsibilities include:
Lead the new vehicle sales team to achieve monthly and annual volume, gross profit, market share and manufacturer objectives Drive consistent execution of the dealership's sales process from initial customer contact through delivery Actively desk deals and structure transactions to maximize both customer value and dealership profitability Maintain strong manager involvement throughout the customer experience, including early introductions, deal progression, TOs and closing Coach, develop and hold Sales Consultants accountable for activity, appointments, demonstrations, follow-up, closing and overall performance Conduct regular one-on-one coaching and identify opportunities for individual development Recruit, train and retain high-performing sales professionals Develop strategies to maximize new vehicle sales effectiveness and improve competitive position within the market Manage new vehicle inventory, aging, turn and model mix in partnership with dealership leadership Monitor pricing and competitive market conditions and make disciplined pricing recommendations Work closely with the BDC and digital teams to maximize internet lead response, appointment conversion, show rate and sold rate Partner with Finance to ensure strong deal handoffs and maximize total transaction profitability while maintaining compliance Maintain disciplined follow-up on unsold showroom traffic and digital opportunities Ensure accurate forecasting and provide leadership with clear visibility into pacing, opportunities and risks Maintain manufacturer standards and
