The Raytheon Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads the mechanical hardware design, development and production of missile, radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system equipment. The ME Team uses state-of the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon’s Six Sigma principles. ME’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation. The Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems. This includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects. The ADGE department is looking for a full-time Principal Mechanical Engineer – Patriot PAC-2 Canister Engineer which is responsible for Patriot PAC-2 GEM-T Missile Canister Assembly & Test. This is a remote role.

Serve as one of the primary Raytheon engineering representatives to Patriot PAC-2 Missile Canister sites, working occasionally embedded in the sites Hands On "Working Lead" while on-site Willingness to travel frequently at times to the current Canister supplier in West Plains, MO and a future supplier Zahid in Jeddah, KSA Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals Support and participate in resolving issues and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions. Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environment A Creative Problem Solver Experienced in Supplier development    Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience. ​Experience in supplier support and development Experience using CREO CAD design and documentation tools Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Project) Preferred Qualifications: Experience in International supplier support or development Advanced degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or hardware systems design Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications Experience with the Patriot PAC-2 Canister design Reliability or failure analysis
