The Keowee Supervisor is responsible for the safe day-to-day operation/maintenance/testing of the station as the on-site emergency power supply to the Oconee Nuclear Station. They will be accountable for the quality of all evolutions in accordance with approved Duke Energy Directives and Policies. The supervisor manages the staffing, support, and coordination of daily activities while maximizing the operability of the emergency power system and availability for system grid generation. This requires a delicate balance for the mission as a QA1 Safety-Related power system and peaking power which, in addition, provides the dual role as a valuable commercial generation facility. As an Operations Support function, the Keowee Supervisor will also be responsible for completing tasks as assigned by Operations Support Group.
Responsibilities
Serve as the ONS owner representative for KHUs performance and governance. Provide oversight of operation and maintenance of KHUs. Ensure configuration management is maintained in all operation, maintenance and RRE project activities. Ensure approved policies and procedures are used to control all activities affecting KHUs. Coordinate operations, maintenance, and procedure changes between ONS and KHUs that impact operation/availability. Support troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities to maximize KHUs availability/operability. Provide technical guidance/training to KHUs personnel and other non-assigned personnel as required. Attend all meetings as applicable to KHUs, to ensure priorities/scheduling are focused properly to maximize availability and support the function and reliable operations of KHUs. Identify any conditions that affect the operability/availability of KHUs and ensure proper notifications are made. Support ONS Operations initiatives, assignments, and emergent priorities as required. Basic/Required Qualifications Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Associate’s degree in engineering with a Min of 4 years’ experience Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to write and verbally communicate effectively in a clear, concise, and organized manner with all levels of employees and management. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple and complex tasks. Demonstrated previous supervisory, leadership, and teamwork experience/skills. Demonstrated ability to read prints (electrical and mechanical): station/owner specific and manufacturers documents/prints. Proficient use of computer applications such as Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety measures/controls Demonstrated experience with Technical Specifications (TS) and Selected Licensee Commitments (SLC) Demonstrated working knowledge of administrative policies in the Nuclear Generation Department Experience using Nuclear Asset Suites (NAS) for planning/scheduling work activities. Demonstrated facility budgeting experience. Demonstrated experience with the eSOMS and Nuclear Condition Report (NCR) process. Previous interface experience with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Working Conditions Normal schedule Day Shift, Mon-Thurs Ability to work overtime including weekend work and holidays as required.
