Job Description
Intern - Kite Development - Global Patient Safety As a Gilead intern you will contribute to high-impact meaningful projects that will not only further advance our company’s mission but will allow you to gain real world experience at one of the most innovative organizations in the world. You will also have opportunities to participate in special events including professional development and leadership presentations, social/network building activities and local community volunteer programs. We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacovigilance (PV) & Drug Safety Intern to join our Safety organization for a summer internship. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to pharmacovigilance and patient safety within a dynamic biopharmaceutical environment, with a particular focus on , safety surveillance, signal detection, aggregate safety assessment, and risk management . The intern will work closely with experienced safety physicians, safety scientists, and PV professionals and cross functional teams and will contribute to projects that support the safe and effective development and lifecycle management of innovative CART therapies. This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate student or advanced undergraduate student interested in pharmacovigilance, drug safety, clinical development, regulatory science, epidemiology, or pharmaceutical medicine . Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Support the Safety organization in conducting literature surveillance and targeted safety information reviews. Assist with aggregate safety data analyses and preparation of safety summaries, tables, and presentations. Support signal detection and signal evaluation activities under the guidance of experienced safety scientists. Assist with review and organization of safety information from clinical trials and post-marketing sources. Support preparation and maintenance of pharmacovigilance deliverables, including DSURs, development safety summaries, safety review materials, and risk management documentation . Conduct targeted research on emerging safety topics, mechanisms of toxicity, and relevant medical literature. Assist with benefit-risk assessment projects and preparation of materials for safety governance forums. Support the development of safety surveillance strategies for novel and advanced therapies. Participate in cross-functional meetings with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and other functions to understand how patient safety is integrated into drug development. Develop presentations and concise written summaries communicating safety findings to scientific and cross-functional audiences. Contribute to a defined summer AI project that addresses a meaningful pharmacovigilance or drug safety question and present findings to the Safety organization at the conclusion of the internship.
