We boldly go. Job Summary : This Project Leader will join our Applied Compression Advanced Concepts and Capabilities (ACC) team. Our ACC teams develop advanced concepts and products in the HVAC and Refrigeration sectors. You will lead the engineering project team during the design cycle through laboratory testing and analysis to achieve optimum performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost targets. This position is located in Shanghai or Taicang China.
Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and managing the maglev compressor design through engineering design release using Trane Technologies formal stage gate process. Identifies and requests engineering personnel needed for the project team. Collaborates with system engineering, controls, heat exchanger, product, manufacturing, and other teams to ensure seamless compressor integration. Provides project updates and manages communications to leadership and other stakeholders. Coordinates purchasing, machining, inspection, build and test of prototype compressors used in lab validation. Transfers the design to the production implementation team and provides support as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or directly-related engineering discipline and at least 10 years of experience in engineering and/or project leadership Ability to travel both domestically and abroad up to one month at a time. Traveling we will be dependent the needs of the project. Key Competencies: Able to work with a diverse, global team primarily in North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific regions Broad understanding of maglev compressors and their integration into the HVAC system Outstanding verbal communication, technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills Can adjust project strategy based on project risks, design tradeoffs, schedule, project budget, product costs, and product reliability Able to understand, condense, and organize information necessary for effective team and leadership decisions Can mentor less experienced team members while working as an effective member of the team We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits and programs.
