The maintenance technician / millwright position is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing and replacing mechanical equipment in the plant safely and efficiently. Technicians install, troubleshoot, service and perform preventative maintenance on rotating equipment. The Maintenance Technician (Millwright) is responsible for maintaining the mechanical equipment utilized at the facility to produce ammonia.
Job Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic and preventive maintenance tasks on bearings, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and turbines. Demonstrate competency in diagnostic and trouble shooting skills. Perform shaft alignment using dial indicators. Laser Alignment (Rotalign) Complete assigned work in a safe and proficient manner. Inspect, identify, change out, and repair pieces of equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and turbines. DGS Replacement Perform visual inspections, diagnose equipment problems, and take necessary steps to perform repairs. Read and understand repair manuals, order replacement parts, and apply manufacturer’s equipment specifications. Perform safe rigging and lifting tasks. Work involves climbing ladders, stairs and use of safety harnesses. Additionally, working out of man lifts or man baskets is required. Internal Controls: Understand and comply with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identify and bring to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies. The successful incumbent will utilize all necessary measures and best practices to safely and responsibly repair and maintain rotating equipment in a chemical manufacturing facility, thereby ensuring optimal performance levels with minimum downtime. This position requires weekend work, call-out and overtime. Successful Incumbents Will Have: 5-7 years of industry related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree/certificate.
