Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities *Location: This is an onsite role located at the Michael Foods facility in Gaylord MN. * *Schedule: This is a Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm role with weekends as needed depending on the business need.* POSITION SUMMARY: The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of receiving operations across two facilities. This role oversees the receiving team, ensures adherence to standard work and inventory processes, and supports procurement activities as a backup. The Receiving Supervisor reports to the Scheduling/Purchasing Manager and is accountable for execution of receiving workflows, inventory accuracy, and material availability to support plant operations. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ROLES • Front line supervision of receiving operations across multiple facilities • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to receiving team members • Ensure adherence to receiving workflows, SOPs, and inventory control processes • Plan, organize, staff, train, support, and maintain control of receiving activities • Act as the primary point of contact between receiving, procurement, and operations • Serve as backup resource for procurement functions • Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement Primary Responsibilities • Supervise day-to-day receiving operations across two facilities, including unloading, verification, and system transactions • Ensure all materials are accurately received against purchase orders and documented per standard work processes • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 12 receiving employees, including training, performance management, and scheduling • Ensure timely and accurate SAP/ERP transactions for goods receipt and inventory movements • Maintain inventory accuracy through process compliance, discrepancy resolution, and coordination with inventory control • Coordinate dock activities and material flow to support production schedules • Enforce adherence to safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices Procurement Backup Responsibilities • Create and manage purchase orders in support of plant operations when procurement coverage is needed • Coordinate with vendors on delivery timing, shortages, and urgent material needs • Support procurement processes including PO execution, tracking, and issue resolution • Assist with maintaining purchasing and material master data accuracy in ERP systems • Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to align material availability with production requirements Operational & Continuous Improvement • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput • Support development and adherence to standard work and SOP documentation •
