Our Boost Control Systems (BCS) Team is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a diverse team of engineers. The BCS Team is responsible for the design, development, integration, verification and sustainment of the hardware and software that control the missile’s boost‑phase flight. This position requires substantial coordination across multiple organizations including various design disciplines, flight sciences, FBM Missile SEIT, contracts, F&BO, other organizations within the Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance, & Controls (PSOC) directorate (mechanical, electrical, RF), as well as the Navy customer. Occasional travel will be required. In this role you will: Lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for proposal, technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and overall project execution from RB development through flight test execution and results assessment. Coordinate employee recruitment, selection, and training Defined work scope expectations and resource loading Develop and coach employees; complete performance assessment related to salary/recognition, and coordinate disciplinary actions with HR Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints The information below includes the standard job description for this position: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
