The Assistant Legal Manager is responsible for providing proactive legal advisory and corporate secretarial support to the Company by ensuring business activities, contracts, policies, and governance practices comply with applicable laws and regulations. The role assists in mitigating legal and regulatory risks, managing corporate records, supporting board and statutory compliance requirements, and coordinating with relevant government authorities, including visiting government offices to facilitate legal filings, registrations, approvals, and other regulatory compliance matters. The position partners with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver practical legal solutions that enable business objectives while protecting the Company's interests. What are we expecting from this role? Legal Advice Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements, promotion materials, content, and voucher (including all the documents that has contractual obligation and legal risks, and undertakes on behalf of the Company). Drafting and preparing internal policy and procedure itself and for cross-functions department if it requires. Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures. Ensuring the business transactions with local laws, regulation, and rules. Providing accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice to cross-functional department’s project and on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business sector and their products or services. Staying up to date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the business and specific industry. Promoting legal management best practice throughout the Company. Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors or vendors or business partners. Designing and delivering legal in-house training to the business. Liaising with other legal-related matters, engaging with the other departments to develop the legal process. Always update the legal process with project owners for having better understanding and cutting-edge solution among cross-functional departments. Assisting and supports a senior or HoD. Managing Legal Records Make sure to well maintain and keep the records to all the signed/legal documents. Updating the list of legal records monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual. Make sure to submit the reports request by the relevant reporting channels in time. Corporate Secretarial Make sure all regulatory compliances to be met in time or report in given time frame. Make sure the Company’s register to-be-update and well maintain all corporate records. Prepare board/member resolutions and keep alert all the changes in regulatory compliance or reporting. Keep corporate information up to date. Make sure all the board meetings / committees to be convened in time and do necessary arrangement Who are we looking for? Minimum of 5 years of legal sector experience Background in corporate commercial is advantageous Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) or a related field required. Active HGP license is strongly preferred Good English communication and interpersonal abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Good personality with a positive attitude and initiative in all stakeholders Prudential is an equal opportunity employer.
