Job Summary
The Lead Electrician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components, including wiring networks, panel boards, circuit systems, conduits, raceways, lighting, receptacles, fixtures, and switches, while also fabricating and installing supports and structural elements to ensure safe and secure operations at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. In addition to performing hands-on technical work, this role develops detailed design packages that comply with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and safety codes. The Lead Electrician ensures all electrical work is executed efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with industry best practices, while also providing guidance to team members and ensuring projects are completed with quality, safety, and performance as top priorities. Key Accountabilities/ Job Functions 1. Installation and System Oversight Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including control circuits, wiring networks, and lighting systems. Oversee the setup of conduits, raceways, panels, switches, receptacles, and other system components. Interpret and apply technical diagrams, blueprints, and design documents to ensure accurate execution. Ensure that all installations meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and safety codes. Provide direction to team members during installation projects to maintain quality and compliance. 2. Maintenance and Preventive Care Coordinate and oversee regular inspections of transformers, circuit breakers, panels, and related equipment. Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce system failures and extend equipment life. Supervise corrective maintenance activities, including servicing of circuit breakers and electrical hardware. Maintain system reliability through scheduled maintenance across various facility areas. Monitor and document maintenance activities to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. 3. Troubleshooting and Repairs Direct troubleshooting efforts by using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic tools. Identify faults in wiring systems, circuits, or components and implement corrective measures. Supervise the repair or replacement of defective equipment, fixtures, and electrical hardware. Ensure timely restoration of system functionality to minimize operational disruptions. Address recurring issues by identifying root causes and recommending long-term solutions. 4. Technical Knowledge, Leadership, and Support Maintain working knowledge of HVAC systems and specialized electrical testing equipment. Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards, codes, and industry best practices. Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical direction to electricians and support staff. Assist with additional responsibilities as required, supporting supervisors and engineers. Promote safe work practices and foster a culture of quality, efficiency, and accountability.
