Job Description

Summary The Combustor and Structural Parts Design Resident Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet strategic business needs, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy in for the combustor and structural parts commodity. This position requires cross-functional collaboration with the CSC (Combustor and Structures Components) Value Stream counterparts to improve the producibility, quality, and delivery of combustor and structural parts. Qualified candidates for this hands-on role will identify areas of improvements to both GE processes and procedures in the areas of Engineering, supply chain quality, and manufacturing. This role is for Engineer in the shop (EIS) role located at in Indianapolis that will be reporting to an Integrated Manufacturing CSC Sub Section Manager based in West Chester, Ohio.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities: Serve as the   on-site engineering representative in Indianapolis   for Combustor and Structural Components (CSC), acting as the key link between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality. Partner with internal shops, suppliers, and design teams to improve   producibility, process capability, and manufacturing readiness   to support on-time engine delivery. Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support by identifying and driving actions that improve the integration of   design and manufacturing   across CSC hardware. Execute the   design, analysis, and technical evaluation   of assigned mechanical engineering projects in alignment with product requirements, engineering standards, and business processes. Use sound engineering judgment to solve complex technical and operational problems involving manufacturing, product support, and process execution. Lead or support   moderately complex technical projects, working with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to deliver practical, timely solutions. Drive continuous improvement by challenging inefficient or outdated methods and recommending better technical or manufacturing approaches. Work closely with engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams, to resolve issues and align on technical decisions. Help build technical alignment by clearly communicating recommendations, facilitating problem solving, and driving team consensus when issues are complex or sensitive. Mentor less-experienced engineers and provide technical guidance to strengthen team capability and execution.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering Technology or similar Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering. Desired Characteristics: Experience in the   design of combustor and/or structural aerospace components Experience supporting   manufacturing of combustor and/or structural components Strong understanding of   manufacturing processes, producibility, and design-for-manufacture principles Experience with   Ansys   and   Unigraphics/NX Significant experience with   GD&T Experience supporting   Material Review Board (MRB)   activities Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of taking initiative and driving solutions Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially in cross-functional technical environments Ability to document work, manage projects, and drive execution against business and technical objectives Established project management skills Collaborative, adaptable team player with a continuous learning mindset Interest in mentoring others and contributing to a strong technical team culture GE Aerospace offers comprehensive benefits and programs to support your
