A Day in the Life The Soft Tissue Implants (STI) business focuses on products used in soft tissue repair and reinforcement, including sutures and hernia repair solutions. The portfolio supports surgeons and healthcare institutions across a range of surgical procedures, with an emphasis on clinical adoption, procedural support, account growth, and improved patient outcomes through evidence-based therapies. This role is responsible for driving commercial performance and customer engagement across a designated territory within Mumbai. The position is remote/field-based and requires regular travel within the assigned territory, with approximately 30-40% travel to hospitals, healthcare facilities, customer meetings, training programmes, and surgical case support activities. The Territory Manager is responsible for growing the Soft Tissue Implants portfolio within the assigned Mumbai territory by developing relationships with surgeons, healthcare professionals, and hospital stakeholders. The role combines sales execution, clinical support, account management, and therapy education to drive adoption of sutures and hernia solutions while supporting customer needs throughout the sales and clinical pathway.
Primary Responsibilities
Achieve territory sales objectives for the Soft Tissue Implants portfolio, including sutures and hernia solutions, through effective territory planning and execution. Develop and maintain relationships with surgeons, operating room staff, nursing teams, hospital administrators, and purchasing stakeholders within assigned accounts. Provide clinical support and surgical case coverage, including product demonstrations, therapy education, and procedural support as required. Identify opportunities to expand business within existing accounts and drive conversion of competitive accounts across the territory. Deliver product and therapy training programmes for new and existing healthcare facilities to support safe and effective product use. Execute territory business plans, monitor sales performance, and maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline to achieve revenue growth targets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer requirements, account development activities, and business objectives. Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, quality standards, customer engagement requirements, and healthcare industry regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Science or Pharmacy and 4+ years of medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or related sales experience. Experience managing hospital-based accounts and engaging with healthcare professionals to drive product adoption and account growth. Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets within an assigned territory. Ability to travel approximately 30-40% within the assigned Mumbai territory and provide on-site customer and clinical support. Ability to conduct product presentations, customer education sessions, and clinical discussions with healthcare stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting surgeons and clinical teams in the operating room during surgical procedures. Knowledge of soft tissue repair products, implantable devices, hernia repair solutions, sutures, biologics, or related surgical technologies. Experience providing procedural support, case coverage, and clinical training within a hospital environment. Understanding of hospital procurement processes, product evaluations, tender processes, and value analysis
