Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications. To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Electrical Quality Design Engineer located in Dundalk, Ireland. The Electrical Design Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the technical quality, accuracy, and compliance of electrical designs for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies. The role supports design verification, engineering governance, and continuous improvement activities, ensuring designs comply with applicable standards, customer specifications, and internal engineering requirements. What a typical day looks like: Perform independent reviews of electrical designs to ensure compliance with project requirements, customer specifications, and engineering standards. Review and verify single line diagrams (SLDs), schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), general arrangement drawings, and associated technical documentation. Verify compliance with applicable standards including IEC 61439, IEC/TR 61641, IEC 60947 series, and other relevant industry requirements. Ensure design verification activities are completed and documented in accordance with IEC 61439 requirements. Support Engineering, Manufacturing, and Test teams in resolving technical and quality-related design issues. Identify design risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement during the design review process. Participate in root cause analysis and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Develop and maintain design review procedures, quality checklists, and engineering standards. Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation in accordance with document control requirements. Support standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives across Engineering and Manufacturing. Work closely with Electrical Design, Mechanical Design, Production, Testing, Procurement, and Technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. Support internal and external audits relating to design compliance and quality management systems. Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and company requirements. The experience we’re looking to add to our team: Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience in design, manufacture, assembly, testing, or commissioning of low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies. Familiarity with Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD Electrical, and Inventor. Working knowledge of IEC 61439 and associated design verification requirements. Knowledge of IEC/TR 61641 and IEC 60947 standards is also desirable. Understanding of low-voltage power distribution systems and switchgear applications. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
