We are looking for a highly driven, technically deep, and customer-obsessed technical account manager to serve as the trusted technical advisor to leading Japanese automotive manufacturers including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru. Based in Tokyo, you will be the on-the-ground technical leader for Japan, working closely with the global Amazon Smart Vehicles team to design, architect, and deliver voice AI solutions for Japanese automotive manufacturers. You'll be at the forefront of translating innovative genAI voice experiences into production-ready architectures for Japan's leading OEMs, helping them accelerate their technological capabilities and digital transformations through hands-on technical engagement. Key job responsibilities • Serve as the primary technical advisor and solutions architect for Japanese automotive OEMs including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, and other key manufacturers • Design and present end-to-end solution architectures for in-cabin voice AI, integrating Amazon's genAI capabilities with OEM-specific vehicle platforms, infotainment systems, and cloud infrastructure • Build and maintain deep technical relationships with Japanese OEM engineering leaders, chief architects, and platform teams, navigating complex organizational structures and cultural nuances • Lead technical deep-dives, proof-of-concept engagements, and architecture workshops with OEM engineering teams to validate solution fit and accelerate adoption • Partner with business development to support deal progression by providing technical credibility, solution scoping, and architecture proposals during complex commercial negotiations • Develop and deliver technical presentations, demos, and reference architectures tailored to Japanese OEM requirements, including edge vs. cloud deployment trade-offs and EdgeLite positioning • Provide regular technical status updates and integration progress reports in English to global leadership, leveraging AI tools for Japanese-to-English communication as needed • Navigate Japanese automotive engineering processes and technical evaluation frameworks, understanding system integration requirements, validation criteria, and homologation standards • Work closely with internal stakeholders (AWS Solutions Architecture, Product Engineering, Partner Engineering) and global Amazon Smart Vehicles team to coordinate technical strategies and integration roadmaps • Collaborate with product, engineering, and platform teams to translate customer technical requirements into product feature requests and influence roadmap priorities • Evaluate and address technical objections, competitive positioning, and integration challenges specific to the Japanese automotive market • Represent Amazon Smart Vehicles at Japanese automotive technology conferences, developer events, and customer technical reviews • Provide technical market intelligence and competitive architecture insights from the Japanese automotive sector to inform global product and engineering strategy A day in the life You'll be driving technical engagement activities on the ground in Tokyo — leading architecture workshops with OEM engineering teams, conducting solution deep-dives, building proof-of-concepts, and advancing multiple concurrent integration efforts.
