What this job involves: The Security Systems Technician is the on-site hands-on resource responsible for day-to-day field maintenance of all physical security systems at the Barber Lake Data Center. This role reporting operationally to the Physical Security Systems Engineer, executes preventive and corrective maintenance, supports installs and minor Moves, Adds, Changes (MAC) work, and performs first-line troubleshooting on access control, video surveillance, and supporting systems. You are accountable for delivering the device-level work needed to meet every physical security obligation in the customer agreements. As a close, daily partner to the Site Operations team, you will work at the intersection of security and facilities on gates, doors, locks, closers, hinges, electromechanical hardware, and adjacent mechanical systems, actively learning from Site Ops trades, sharing knowledge of security systems, and collaborating on shared troubleshooting and repairs so the site runs as one team. What your day-to-day will look like: Perform daily walk-downs and proactive health checks of cameras, card readers, controllers, locks, REX devices, intercoms, biometric readers, and supporting low-voltage infrastructure while executing preventive maintenance per OEM and contract schedule Perform corrective maintenance and break-fix on access control (ACS), video surveillance (VSS), intrusion detection, intercom, key management, and visitor management hardware Support the Physical Security Systems Engineer on installs, MACs, commissioning, and acceptance testing of new devices, zones, and system expansions Terminate, dress, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat6/6A, fiber patching, RS-485) to Cipher Digital and OEM standards Execute Genetec Security Center field tasks under engineer direction: enrolling and tuning devices, verifying camera streams and archiver recording, configuring readers, validating door behavior, and clearing health alarms Work tickets from the security operations queue against contractual SLAs, providing clear updates, accurate root-cause notes, and complete closeout documentation Partner daily with the Site Operations team on shared infrastructure including gates, doors, locks, closers, hinges, electromechanical hardware, and adjacent mechanical systems, supporting joint troubleshooting, repairs, and PMs while cross-training with Site Ops technicians Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required 3+ years of hands-on field experience installing, maintaining,
