Radiation Therapist

Provide ionizing radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.

Accurately delivers the prescribed, planned course of therapy with supervision from mentor. Performs simulation/tumor localization procedures with supervision from mentor. Orders for care are scheduled, carried out and documented in the electronic chart. Take weekly portal images for treatment verification and have physician check. Take patient photos and treatment field photos and transfer to patient chart. Checks patient & chart identification, prepares the treatment room, sets up the immobilization devices, blocks, and tattoos patients with supervision from mentor Assures that the patient is seen by Oncologist weekly and more often if recognizes signs of treatment complication. Observes and practices Radiation Safety Standards.
