Job Description

Laboratory Technician   Position Summary   In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and all applicable regulatory standards, the Laboratory Technician performs, interprets, troubleshoots, and documents laboratory procedures in a production environment. Responsibilities include a wide variety of analytical testing activities utilizing both manual and automated methods and procedures to support manufacturing operations and product quality.   This position provides day-to-day maintenance of bacterial clones, reagents, laboratory equipment, and the laboratory environment to ensure uninterrupted production support and compliance with quality standards. The role also supports documentation activities, equipment maintenance, process monitoring, and other laboratory-related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Perform laboratory procedures, analytical testing, and production support activities in accordance with SOPs, cGMP requirements, and regulatory guidelines.   Interpret test results and troubleshoot routine laboratory and process-related issues.   Conduct  procedures using manual and automated laboratory methods and equipment.   Maintain bacterial clones and associated biological materials required for manufacturing operations.   Prepare, maintain , and manage laboratory reagents and consumables.   Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and verification of laboratory and production equipment.   Ensure laboratory workspaces, equipment, and materials are maintained in a clean, organized, and compliant state.   Accurately document test results, procedures, observations, and production data in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.   Assist with the preparation of reports, summaries, protocols, and technical documentation as required .   Identify and communicate equipment, process, or quality issues to supervisors and team members.   Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.   Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams to meet production goals.   Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.   Job Level Characteristics   Acquires knowledge of company policies, practices, procedures, and manufacturing operations.   Learn technical requirements and laboratory processes within the assigned area.   Performs routine tactical, operational, and administrative assignments with clearly defined objectives .   Works under close supervision with prescribed tasks and established procedures.   Demonstrates increasing proficiency , responsibility, and independence over time.   Communicates routine information effectively within the immediate team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications   Bachelor's degree required   1-3 years of related experience preferred   Experience with pipets and DNA is preferred   Coursework in biotechnology, microbiology, biology, chemistry, laboratory sciences, manufacturing, or related fields is preferred.   Laboratory, manufacturing, biotechnology, or regulated industry experience is a plus.   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities   Ability to follow detailed procedures, SOPs, and documentation requirements.   Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and biological materials handling.   Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.   Effective verbal and written communication skills.   Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.   Basic computer proficiency and data-entry skills.   Strong organizational and time-management skills .   Ability to work independently on routine assignments while contributing effectively as a team member.
