About this role

Description The Huntington Community Impact Capital (“CIC”) Senior Tax Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert supporting the tax compliance, reporting, and tax credit strategy functions of CIC’s investment portfolio. The Senior Tax Analyst will lead the review and analysis of partnership tax returns, coordinate tax compliance activities across direct, proprietary, and multi-investor funds, and provide technical guidance related to low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), historic tax credits (HTC), New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), and other tax credit investments. The role will work closely with Huntington’s Tax, Finance, and Accounting teams to optimize tax credit utilization and ensure compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements. The Senior Tax Analyst will report to the CIC Director of Tax and will be primarily responsible for: Leading the review and analysis of partnership tax returns, K-1s, and related tax reporting for CIC investments. Evaluating, researching, and documenting complex federal and state tax issues associated with tax credit investments. Managing the communication, tracking, and receipt of tax returns for direct, multi-investor, and proprietary investment funds. Serving as a key liaison between CIC, external tax preparers, fund administrators, asset managers, and Huntington’s Corporate Tax Department. Working with Huntington’s Tax Team to forecast annual federal and state tax liabilities and recommend utilization strategies for available tax credits. Identifying and analyzing opportunities to maximize the value of state and federal tax credits and other tax attributes. Maintaining oversight of tax credit delivery schedules and ensuring accurate accounting and tracking of K-1s and related tax reporting. Reviewing partnership agreements, operating agreements, and transaction documents to understand tax implications and reporting requirements. Supporting new product development initiatives by evaluating tax implications of proposed structures and investments. Leading tax-related process improvement initiatives, including development of procedures, controls, and reporting tools. Assisting with responses to internal audit, external audit, regulatory, and tax authority requests. Managing annual business license renewals, registrations, and other compliance-related requirements. Participating in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned. Demonstrating strong stewardship over Huntington’s financial and community impact objectives. Representing Huntington at industry conferences, tax credit forums, and policy discussions.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Accounting, Finance, or related business degree preferred. 5+ years of tax experience, including at least 4 years related to LIHTC, HTC, NMTC, or other tax credit investments Preferred Qualifications Advanced technical knowledge of the LIHTC program. Strong understanding of partnership taxation, tax credit structures, financial modeling, and accounting principles. Compensation

Range: 70,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD Annual Salary
