Job Title: Senior Staff Engineer Location Bengaluru, India (Onsite) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership, architectural direction, and hands-on development across our full technology stack. This role will drive the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performing applications while mentoring engineering teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in both backend and frontend technologies , strong system design capabilities, and a passion for building enterprise-grade solutions that deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership Lead architecture, design, and implementation of large-scale distributed systems and modern web applications. Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes. Drive technical strategy and influence product and platform roadmaps. Conduct architecture reviews and ensure scalability, reliability, security, and performance. Mentor senior engineers and contribute to technical growth across engineering teams. Backend Engineering Design and develop microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures. Build highly scalable and resilient backend systems. Collaborate with platform teams to improve cloud infrastructure and operational excellence. Optimize application performance, data processing, and system reliability. Implement observability through monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions. Collaboration & Innovation Work closely with Product Management, Architecture, Security, DevOps, and Engineering teams. Evaluate emerging technologies and drive adoption where appropriate. Participate in strategic planning, technical roadmaps, and innovation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 12+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in technical leadership roles. Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale software solutions. Strong expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native development. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Technical Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong expertise in Core Java , including: Concurrency and Multithreading Generics Collections Framework JVM internals, Garbage Collection, Memory Management Strong understanding of Operating System concepts , Containers, and Hypervisors. Expertise in RESTful API design , versioning, security, and performance optimization. Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale. Deep understanding of: Microservices architecture Event-driven architecture Service-to-service communication patterns Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Strong knowledge of: Kubernetes and container orchestration CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as Code Expertise in database design and performance optimization : SQL databases NoSQL databases Data modeling and indexing strategies Strong understanding of: System reliability Observability Monitoring Logging Distributed tracing Experience with system performance analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting in production environments.
