As an Engineer II – Hydraulic Applications at Donaldson Company, you will help shape the next generation of hydraulic filtration solutions used across construction, agricultural, and heavy mobile equipment. You’ll lead engineering initiatives from early concept through production release, collaborate directly with OEM customers, and support existing product platforms. Role
Responsibilities: Drive customer‑focused innovation by applying advanced engineering tools and methods to develop hydraulic filtration solutions. Translate customer requirements into clear product concepts, performance targets, and technical proposals. Lead product development from design and analysis through validation, testing, and production release. Support existing products through design updates, material changes, and continuous improvement activities. Manage test programs to ensure products meet performance, durability, and regulatory expectations. Provide design guidance to internal teams and OEM customers throughout the development cycle. Identify new technology opportunities and support Donaldson’s intellectual property strategy. Stay current on emerging hydraulic technologies, materials, and industry standards. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Engineering through customer visits and technical consultations. Educate others on filtration principles and tools as part of a market‑leading organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 3+ years of professional engineering experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience with hydraulic systems Filtration knowledge or industry experience Background in automotive, heavy equipment, or mobile machinery Familiarity with APQP or similar structured product development processes Experience working within IATF or ISO/TS certified systems Strong collaboration skills, self‑motivation, and professional confidence Effective communication skills across all levels, including customer‑facing interactions Demonstrated project management capability TRAVEL: Up to 15% (primarily U.S., with occasional international travel) Annual Salary Range: $76,400 - $105,050 annually. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
