APG Technician - General Mechanic Company: Boeing Qatar Incorporated Boeing Global Services (BGS) Service is seeking for a Crew Chief - APG Technician - General Mechanic to assist in our maintenance efforts at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar .

Summary Handles complex work, oversees activities, and verifies compliance and airworthiness. Leads the assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by overseeing the change, removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Directs troubleshooting of complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Oversee validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Leads and supervises others to perform tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations). Provides training and mentors others. Works under general direction.

Responsibilities: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on tactical aircraft. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuels systems, including engines, airframes, flight controls, landing gear, and weapons systems. Adhere to technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations to ensure the highest standards of maintenance and operational readiness. Component Repair and Replacement: Remove, install, and align aircraft components and systems, such as engines, landing gear, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and weapons systems. Test repaired or replaced components to ensure proper functioning. Conduct adjustments, calibrations, and functional checks to maintain aircraft performance. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and services on aircraft systems and components. Conduct lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments to ensure proper operation and prevent system failures. Replace consumable parts and adhere to prescribed maintenance intervals. Conduct pre-flight, post-flight, and periodic inspections to identify and rectify discrepancies. Document maintenance actions, equipment status, and component life cycles accurately. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Inspect component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components. Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations). Collaborate with other maintenance disciplines to ensure that aircraft are ready for flight operations. Able to assign and perform CUT (Cross Utilization Training) as required. Works under general supervision. This position requires the ability to obtain the US Security Clearance from the US Government. Minimum of 1 year experience in Airframe, Powerplant and/or General Mechanics. Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts Preferred Qualifications: Experience on military fighter platforms like F-16, F-18, F-22, F-5, F-14, or F-15 Military or vocational school related to discipline or equivalent. Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent Candidates must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country.
