Mechanical Maintenance Engineer PPG Industries Clayton The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is an important technical leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of all site mechanical systems and process equipment. You will provide governance of mechanical integrity, statutory compliance, and asset reliability, while driving maintenance effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in equipment performance and lifecycle management.

Lead and govern the reliability, safety, and compliance of site mechanical infrastructure, ensuring the availability and performance of rotating and static equipment Oversees Mechanical Integrity programs, ensuring compliance with pressure equipment, piping systems, tanks, and lifting equipment requirements Ensure compliance with all mechanical regulatory and safety systems, maintaining safe work practices and statutory inspection programs Manage and optimise mechanical maintenance systems (CMMS/MES), ensuring planning support, accurate data, and efficient backlog control Provide technical governance of mechanical standards, drawings, specifications, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality across the site Drive continuous improvement in mechanical performance, including defect elimination, reliability improvements, and asset upgrades Ensures workforce competency and compliance for mechanical activities, identifying and addressing capability gaps Act as the site technical authority for mechanical engineering, supporting risk assessments, HAZOPs, and operational troubleshooting Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Experience in industrial or manufacturing environment Knowledge of rotating equipment, piping systems, tanks, and pressure systems · Experience in mechanical safety and regulatory compliance About us:   PPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLD ®  Through leadership in innovation, sustainability and color, PPG helps customers in industrial, transportation, consumer products, and construction markets and aftermarkets to enhance more surfaces in more ways than does any other company.
