In this role, you will create simple mockups and prototypes, translate established designs into functional front-end components, and help adapt experiences across devices. You will work alongside product, design, data science, and engineering partners, receiving guidance while building your skills in front-end development, usability, accessibility, and user-centered design. This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Birmingham, AL; Charlotte, NC; Louisville, KY; Cedar Falls, IA; Allen, TX; Overland Park, KS; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO. All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity. This position is ineligible for immigration sponsorship and support. Please do not apply if at any time you will need immigration support now or in the future (i.e., H-1B, PERM). What you’ll be responsible for: Develop simple mockups and prototypes with basic interactions and states. Translate established mockups, wireframes, and requirements into functional front-end experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with guidance. Adapt designs and existing front-end frameworks to create responsive interactions across multiple devices. Develop and prepare visual assets for simple prototypes and presentations. Collaborate with team members on basic design and front-end development tasks. Contribute to style guides, reusable UI components, and established design-system patterns. Apply user-centered design, responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility principles to simple projects. Identify basic usability or interface issues and support testing, troubleshooting, and updates. Learn and apply team tools, standards, and front-end development practices through feedback and collaboration. May perform other job duties as assigned. What you’ll need to have: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, internship experience, relevant coursework, or a combination of these in front-end development and/or user interface (UI) design. Experience developing responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. What would be nice for you to have: Experience creating mockups or prototypes and translating established designs into functional digital experiences. Ability to collaborate, receive feedback, solve basic problems, and learn new tools and technologies. Exposure to a modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
