The Radar Mechanical Design Department specializes in the design, development, and integration of advanced land-based and shipboard radar systems, including phased array radars, electronic modules, pedestals, and power and cooling systems. Our team combines technical expertise and hands-on experience to solve meaningful challenges and create a safer, more secure world. We’re currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in power design to lead mechanical teams in all phases of radar development, from concept through production. This role involves designing power electronic solutions, performing engineering analyses, and delivering hardware for integration and production. This is an on-site role for Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA What You Will Do Leverage your mechanical and power design expertise to develop innovative technical solutions. Lead the design and development of electrical power systems for radar platforms, including layout, power generation, and distribution. Manage design-to-production transitions, ensuring seamless design releases into manufacturing. Conduct complex tolerance analyses to verify form, fit, and function for radar applications. Provide technical guidance to ensure products meet quality standards, performance requirements, and compliance regulations. Lead small teams to meet project schedules, budgets, and technical goals while driving process improvements. Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines, operations, systems teams, quality assurance, and suppliers. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on significant technical matters.
Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience. 3 years experience in the design of power or electronic systems for military or aerospace or commercial applications. Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Qualifications We Prefer Experience developing technical data packages and adhering to drawing standards. Experience design of power and power conversion systems used in military or ruggedized applications. Leadership experience in managing small development teams. Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software. Knowledge of power design capabilities or have direct experience in power manufacturing and assembly.
