Job Summary
Role: Director, Digital Marketing & Strategy (Management) Reports to: VP, Digital Marketing & Strategy (Management) Location: New York, NY (In-office, 5 days a week) The Role: The Director, Digital Marketing & Strategy will serve as the lead hands-on digital strategist and architect of digital initiatives for Roc Nation's management clients. This position is responsible for driving the strategy, release plans, and go-to-market approach across DSPs, retail, and digital/social channels for a diverse roster ranging from emerging talent to global icons. The ideal candidate is deeply connected, highly proactive across social, digital, and DSP partners, and equally adept at high-level strategic planning and direct, hands-on execution. You will collaborate closely with the VP of Digital Marketing, label partners, artist managers, and DSP counterparts, owning campaign lifecycles end-to-end to build artist brand presence and drive revenue opportunities. This role owns a portfolio of brand relationships and contributes directly to achieving and exceeding revenue targets in a highly competitive and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Execution Serves as the primary digital strategist for assigned management clients, developing and executing comprehensive marketing blueprints that differentiate artists in a crowded global marketplace Drives revenue-generating initiatives across direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels, exclusive content windows, playlist placement, influencer integrations, and non-traditional partnerships Creates fluid, long-term (12-month+) marketing roadmaps that align recorded music releases with touring, live events, and commercial offerings Brings creative, unconventional ideas to the table that supports clients' priorities on a digital scale Partner Relations & Cross-Functional Collaboration Owns and maintains senior-level relationships across DSPs, streaming services, social platforms, and retail channels to secure prime placements and marketing support Conducts regular outreach to pitch releases, secure playlisting, and maximize partner commitments across the digital landscape Partners closely with internal and external stakeholders—including labels, artist managers, Creative Services, Brands, Touring, Commerce, Publicity, and Philanthropy—to ensure cohesive, 360-degree campaign alignment Data, Reporting & Project Management Establishes tracking frameworks and utilizes advanced analytics to measure campaign performance against ROI targets and internal benchmarks Continuously analyzes real-time streaming and audience data to adjust active campaigns mid-stream for maximum impact Maintains, tracks, and updates release schedules, partner deliverables, and internal artist dashboards Supports priority artist launches, catalog campaigns, and special projects end-to-end Other duties, as assigned Qualifications: 7–10 years of progressive experience in artist management, release strategy, or platform/DSP relations at a label, distributor, management company, or digital platform Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred Music & Digital Expertise: Deep fluency in the digital, streaming, and social media landscape, with a passion for music and contemporary culture Hands-on Execution: Ability to seamlessly pivot from big-picture strategy to tactical execution, copywriting under pressure, and field content capture Relationship Building: Proven track record of leveraging industry connections across DSPs, digital platforms, and cultural partners Data-Informed & Creative-Led: Ability to extract actionable insights from analytics platforms while maintaining the integrity of the artist's visual and creative vision Autonomy & Agility: Strong self-starter who thrives independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while remaining a collaborative cross-functional partner Technical Skills: Working knowledge of audio, photo, and video editing software, alongside social listening and
