Start here. Grow here. AECOM’s Development Infrastructure team is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to take a lead role in the technical delivery of civil engineering projects across Ireland. This role is suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys problem-solving, mentoring others, and seeing projects through from early design to construction. Our Development Infrastructure team provides civil engineering services to developers, housebuilders, local authorities, and major clients across Ireland and the U.K. We work across all stages of a project, from feasibility and planning to detailed design and construction, covering drainage, highways, flood risk, and water infrastructure. The team has a strong focus on technical quality, collaboration, and mentoring, with an emphasis on practical engineering solutions. Here’s what you’ll do: Lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from feasibility and planning through to construction. Act as a technical lead on projects, providing guidance and support to junior engineers. Work directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions. Take ownership of technical quality, programme, and coordination on assigned projects. Requirements
Degree-qualified Civil Engineer; Chartered or working towards Chartered status. Demonstrable experience delivering development infrastructure projects in Ireland or the U.K. Strong technical background in drainage, highways/pavements, flood risk, water infrastructure, and SuDS. Comfortable using tools such as MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
