· Lead quality assurance and defect-prevention activities for welding, fabrication, cabin, structural component, and assembly operations. · Provide shop-floor support and lead containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification using 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, PFMEA, DMAIC, and data-driven problem solving. · Act as the primary Quality representative supporting daily OFP production and driving rapid resolution of manufacturing quality concerns. · Lead dimensional investigations involving GD&T, fit/form/function issues, tolerance stack-up, weld distortion, fixture variation, and manufacturing capability. · Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements and translate them into effective inspection and process-control strategies. · Utilize dimensional inspection systems such as CMM, FARO/Romer Arm, Laser Tracker, and portable metrology equipment. · Evaluate process capability and variation through SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA, and Gage R&R methodologies. · Monitor and improve FPY, PPM, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and warranty metrics. · Support APQP, PPAP, process validation, product launches, audits, and manufacturing readiness activities. · Lead cross-functional teams in the resolution of complex manufacturing and quality issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, and cost. · Provide hands-on shop floor quality support and lead quality issues from detection and containment through root cause analysis, corrective action, validation, and closure. · Provide welding expertise, dimensional analysis, statistical problem solving, and cross-functional leadership to improve quality, delivery, and process capability. What Skills You Need
· Experience in Quality Engineering within manufacturing environments with strong shop-floor involvement. · Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication processes, weld defects, process parameters, fixtures/tooling, and weld distortion. · Strong knowledge of GD&T according to ASME Y14.5 and engineering drawing interpretation. · Experience with dimensional inspection and metrology systems such as CMM, FARO, Romer Arm, Laser Tracker, or equivalent technologies. · Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Gage R&R, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and Root Cause Analysis. · Strong analytical and statistical problem-solving
