Sr Engineer - BGE Electric Distribution Capacity/Grid Planning

Primary Purpose The Distribution planning team is hiring for 4 senior engineer positions.  One in Regional Capacity Planning Two in Advanced Analysis and Modeling One in the newly formed Strategic Grid Planning team Regional Capacity Planning (RCP) - Responsible for planning and management of capacity of the distribution system. Capacity Planner Engineers develop the distribution forecast, identify capacity constraints, and plan distribution projects for inclusion in long range plans. Capacity Planning is integrally involved planning the distribution system of the future. A system that incorporates increasing amounts of solar generation, energy storage, electric vehicles, electrification, and how those technologies work together to drive solutions for our customers.    Advanced Analysis & Modeling (AAM) - Responsible for electric distribution system analysis, distributed energy resource (DER) interconnection studies, and grid modernization initiatives. Demonstrated expertise in engineering software and application development, including CYME, ASPEN or other engineering analysis tools. Demonstrated proficiency in analytical tool development and automation using technologies such as Python, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools.    Strategic Grid Planning (SGP) - Responsible for the development of the Annual Planning Update (APU) of the Electric System Plan and response to associated data requests of the APU. Includes coordination and collaboration with the BGE and Exelon strategy teams to meet regulations for advancement of the distribution system planning process and adoption of distributed energy resources (DER), including the advancement of MESP (BESS) and DRIVE (VPPs) amongst others. Strong data modeling skills is a plus.      The Senior Engineer provides technical leadership in the planning, design, and execution of projects involving Exelon's utility infrastructure. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, leading complex engineering studies, and ensuring strategic alignment with safety, reliability, and compliance goals. Work can include:  Leading advanced electric, gas, and/or communications system performance analysis and outage investigations Developing and implementing engineering strategies for grid modernization  Managing budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for major projects Facilitating cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement Conducting field inspections and resolving high-impact technical challenges May be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies Primary Duties Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas
